Detailed Description:
Borage flower (starflower), a Mediterranean native, makes a beautifully purple/blue alkaline herbal infusion. It has been traditionally used as a very practical soothing remedy to ease respiratory discomfort, clear out mucus (by “cooling” mucilage) and help soothe coughs or bronchial infections (such as seasonal cold, flue, etc.). It has also been used to support adrenal strength, ease stress, and encourage calm. Adding an acid (in this blend being the hibiscus flower) balances the alkaloids in the borage flower (please note that too much of these alkaloids may press the liver to harm, so please use mindfully and stay hydrated). New research has also studied other properties of this plant including blocking the inflammatory pathways, thus suppressing major inflammatory triggers and switches, as well as antioxidant activities as it contains polyphenols that scavenge free radicals and reduce oxidative stress markers in skin and body cells.
Chamomile flower, provides plenty of anti-inflammatory properties, containing apigenin, chamazulene, and alpha-bisabolol that lower inflammation by blocking inflammatory signals in the body, reduce swelling, and calm irritated skin or mucous membranes. The herbal infusion has been used for its soothing effect for the raspatory system by reducing the lung tissue damage from inflammation, and the digestive track by calming swelling and spasms in the stomach and gut, as well as reducing pain and swelling from mouth sores or gum inflammation.
Rose flower, an underrated champion, contains compounds like polyphenols and antioxidants that fight cell damage and lower inflammation in the body. As an herbal infusion, it has been used to reduce minor pain, support digestion by reducing gut inflammation and stimulating bile production in the liver, ease menstrual cramps, as well as prompting relaxation and lowering stress.
Lavender flower, makes a calming and aromatic infusion that has been used to lower pro-inflammatory cytokines (as it contains linalool and flavonoids), ease digestive tract spasms and gut inflammation, reducing gas, bloating and stomach upset, as well as to reduce pain from cramps or headaches.
Hibiscus flower, is rich in powerful antioxidants called anthocyanins and polyphenols, which neutralize cell-damaging free radicals. Drinking hibiscus infusion has been used to help lower markers of chronic inflammation linked to heart disease, as well as a regulating blood pressure including natural ACE inhibitors that block proteins that narrow blood vessels causing blood vessel relaxation and promoting vasodilation to improve blood flow.
